Activity Rules

General:

Before launching all lake users must:

Complete a registration form at reception

Inform ALP of any relevant medical conditions 

Pay the correct fee

Buoyancy aids and suitable footwear must be worn at all times on or near the water

Children under the age of 16 and receiving instruction by ALP staff will not need adult supervision until the instruction has finished

Sailing:

Sailing boats may only be used by customers with previous rigging and sailing experience, or those under instruction.

It is recommended customers under 16 years wishing to hire a boat wear a helmet whilst participating in the activity

Paddle sports:

Sit-on-tops kayaks may only be used by under 16’s if they have a adult supervision

Windsurfing:

All windsurfers must wear a buoyancy aid or a harness

A helmet is recommended for beginners

Angling Rules

Allerthorpe Lakeland Park Ltd reserves the right to refuse entry. Please be aware that the following rules must be observed and no refunds will be provided to anyone in breach.

All anglers must report to Reception on arrival and purchase a ticket.

Anglers must have a current Environment Agency rod licence.

All Fishing to be with rod and line.

Fly fishing only is permitted.

Barbless single hooks must be used with maximum size 6. The possession/use of baits of any kind, spinning tackles or bubble floats is prohibited.

The limit ticket includes the specified number of fish only.

Any additional fish, or fish excess of the weight specified in rules 8 and 9 below must be paid for at a rate, as per price list.

The first fish caught under 5lb weight must be killed.

No fish over 5lb is to be killed.

All golden trout are to be returned to the water unharmed.

Park staff may undertake random checks which must not be refused.

All anglers must use a knotless landing net. Anyone found using tackle considered as detrimental to the fish will be asked to cease fishing without exception.

No angler shall use more than 1 (one) rod at a time.

Anglers should not leave a rod unattended.

All anglers are required to behave sensibly at the waterside and have due regard for all other anglers. Anyone causing a nuisance will be asked to leave.

No fish to be transferred to or from the lake waters without the express permission of the Park Management and then only within the by-laws. Anyone caught or suspected of breaking this rule will be dealt with severely and may leave themselves open to prosecution.

All litter, including discarded flies and nylon must be removed from the water and bankside before leaving.

No wading.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Catch returns must be entered in the book provided in the park centre before departure.
